layered.

There's a part of me that's ready for summer (a crazy part of me that apparently has no idea how 80 plus temps will affect this already tired, slow preggo). But if I deny that (tiny) part of myself, I'm really quite happy with spring temps because spring and fall are always my favorite seasons to dress for.

I love shedding bulky winter pieces and being able to play with lighter layers. And summer dressing doesn't really challenge me because I tend to grab shorts and a tee (there's not much creativity there). I also really love using the pieces from my winter wardrobe with my summer wardrobe like pairing a light-weight sweater with a maxi skirt. It definitely makes for more interesting outfits. So all this to say, I am really loving playing right now and I don't mind if summer waits a little longer before she makes a full appearance.

daytime sparkles.

It's getting warmer (not super warm though), so that means you are going to see my utility jacket ALL the time. It literally is my trusty sidekick. I don't leave home without it.

My wardrobe is getting smaller and smaller (I didn't mean for that to be a double entendre, but touche Lindsay touche). I'm about to the point where I've outgrown my normal clothes. And even if I haven't, like this sweatshirt, I have major anxiety about my belly being exposed, so I am always yanking on the hem. Attractive no. Better than showing my belly? One would think so.

So as much as I abhor buying maternity clothes, especially ones that will only see the light of day for another three months or so, I did exactly that. I needed a few more options, especially since I am likely to stretch the hem out of every shirt I own.

But one thing I don't need to buy in maternity is shoes. These sneakers were a bit of a stretch for me. I thought they could be a disaster. I totally did not expect a home-run. And I am super excited that they add a little bit of pizzazz to my weekend uniform.

Hope you all had a lovely weekend!

sometimes simple is best.

Is it Friday yet? I know it's not but I am just dragging this week. And fortunately or unfortunately for you guys, you get another outfit post. My brain was not functioning on a level where I could come up with a great inspiration or style board. And after staring dumbly at my computer for most of the day, I decided what the heck let's do another outfit.

This outfit may not be the most innovative or the most stylish. But it's cute and comfy, which is perfect for this pregnant momma. I know there's nothing amazing about it but nonetheless I love it. I could honestly get out of bed and wear this every single day. That top is definitely my favorite non-preggo but works for a preggo lady top. You don't even want to know how many times I wear it...especially without washing it. Too much information, huh?

Here's hoping Friday comes a day earlier...wishful thinking I know.

But I do have a little treat to hopefully make your week better. eShakti is offering you guys a special discount now through March 10th. Just eneter LPSTCKNDLL in the promotional code box when you check out and you will receive 20 percent off your order. Enjoy friends!

What happened to summer?!?!

Okay Chicago, seriously what happened?!?  I was wearing shorts and now I'm wearing a sweater, vest and jeans.  This is a good outfit for winter but not for the beginning of summer!  Other than the weather that can't make up its mind, we had a wonderful weekend!  My parents were in town, so that gives us a little bit of a break.  Sometimes it's nice to be a woman, and not just a mom.  I got to shower and dress every day and even straighten my hair!  It was like I was me again!

But I'm sorry to say it will be back to regular programming once my parents leave today.  No more straight hair and stylish clothes, there will be more stains and more of the tired mom look.  I'm sort of exaggerating...

On a side note, I love these new booties.  Sweetie Pie Style inspired me!  These booties were on sale on Zulily and I just couldn't pass them up.  They ended up being better than I expected!

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!
