So the bad news is that somehow during the 8-hour flight to Hawaii my super cute J. Crew hat that I had packed ALL the way from home had ripped. The good news is that I got to buy a new one! And let me tell you...I love this hat! I think it's way more versatile than my old one, meaning it can be worn all year round. There's nothing super summery about it. 

Maybe I also love this hat because the lady at the store gave me the greatest compliment ever. She said in her super cool British accent that I had this really great European style about me. And when she saw me pick up this hat, she knew that I would rock it. What?!? No one has ever told me that. But I will definitely take it. Yeah, that's me rocking a really cool European style. No biggie.

what i would wear miner edition

If I were a miner, this would be my getup.  Practical...no.  Stylish...yes!  Colorado has some of the coolest backdrops for photos (like this old mining rig).  I apparently I thrive on themes.  Give me a locale and I'll dress and pose appropriately.  It's just one of my many hidden talents.

These photos was taken right before my husband was almost eaten by a dog.  Luckily he wasn't as this would be the last outfit photo you guys would get.  The woman told us her dog was being put down for aggressive behavior.  Um...okay.  You would think you would mention that little tidbit before letting your dog come up to us.  In the event that you have a vicious animal that likes to bite people, let us know beforehand...k?

This is real life folks and in real life I have to walk my dog.  My photo shoots usually happen on dog walks.  It's just easier that way.  Unfortunately Bodhi (aka the Akita pictured above) doesn't like to pose pretty for the camera.  She's more interested in the labrador to her left.  And when I tried to get her to fake walk for the camera she just sat at the other end of the leash...totally uncooperative.  I guess that's what I get for trying to model with a dog.

I decided to pop on this outfit for Long Distance Loving's Friday Fancies: T-shirt Edition.  I've really been craving neutrals lately and apparently printed pants (as you can tell from my outfit posts this week).  I guess when I'm not wearing color I need a crazy print to put my self at ease.  This was a little funky for me but sometimes you need a little funk.  See how else I've styled these pants.

Oh and on a side note, my mom took this photos and she rocked them!  I'm so impressed!

Boho-Chic

I don't usually go for a boho vibe but it just felt right on this day.  This shirt was meant to be paired with those booties; they are a match made in heaven.  And, I felt uber chic in this outfit like I was headed to  Coachella or something equally amazing.  Unfortunately, I'm not that cool and this outfit just got to hang out with my son and go out to dinner.  But we can pretend, right?

In a perfect world, we would take photos at this time of day every day.  The light was gorgeous.  I swear it's making me look better than I do in real life!

What are you guys up to this weekend?  Any big plans for Father's Day?  I'm usually so good about planning something for my husband but I'm just drawing a big ol' blank this year. I haven't done a thing...I'm a bad wife I know!  So I need to get my butt in gear and sooner rather than later.  Oh and don't worry my husband proofs all my posts so he knows this!
