I truly believe this might be the last of the fall-like photos. The temperatures just keep dropping and the leaves are steadily drifting to the ground.
And if I'm being completely honest with you, I would tell you that I haven't worn an actual outfit in the last week and a half (With the exception of the other day. Apparently it's not appropriate to wear an XXL Sammy Sosa shirt and pj pants to the airport. Who knew.) But since I don't really like being honest, we will pretend that I didn't just come clean with you guys. We'll just gloss over that fact and move on to this glorious sweater that it took me a year to figure out how to style. Yes, I am full of all sorts of admissions today.
And let's chat a moment about belts shall we? I buy all sorts of belts: wide ones, skinny ones, colored ones, leopard ones and sparkly ones and they are all comfortably hanging out in my closet where they stay pretty much all the time because I never wear them. I have a large bust so belts tend to accentuate that more than I'd like. I buy them because they are pretty but never wear them because I look too busty. Logical huh? This is an example of where a belt works for me. The chambray shirt is a looser fit and the cardigan is open so the belt adds another dimension but without accentuating my bust. So if you are like me, give this look a shot. I promise you will be pleased.
I think this sweater is perfect! Even if it did take a year to figure out how to style it! :)

I have a new found love of belts. I am not busty at all and have a small waist and wide hips...so belts are my new friends. I am really loving those shoes. A new DSW just opened near me...I have to go check them out.

I love that sweater!
ReplyDeleteI love the belt on you! But I understand where you're coming from. I hate my thighs - HATE them, yet I buy the skinniest jeans and leggings known to man. Then I have to figure out cute ways of covering them up!
ReplyDeleteThanks Niki! What is wrong with us!?!? I just keep buying them!
DeleteI never wear belts either! I can't figure out how to wear them, I think its because I have a short torso so I feel like they make me look funny, haha! Love this outfit (and the belt!). I'm a new blog follower!
ReplyDeleteThanks for following! I think it just takes some experimentation to find the right combo!
DeleteChambray and mustard are two of my favorite combos this fall. You pulled it off perfectly. I love the belted look on open front cardigans too!
ReplyDeleteOne of mine too! They just go so well together!
DeleteI love those shoes! I thought about buying them for awhile but never took the plunge! And mustard is one of my favorite fall colors!
