lust vs. love: spring and summer style!

{Lust | Love}

I have been eyeing the Bensimon shoes for as long as they have been on the Madewell site. I think they are the perfect casual shoe but I have never actually gotten a pair. While they are not expensive at all, you have to consider you could get three pairs of the Old Navy version as opposed to one version from  Madewell. I'm definitely crushing on the ON navy pair and the reviews are amazing!

{Lust | Love}

I can't believe how much these too look alike! Why spend $148 when you can spend $54.95? The Gap version definitely doesn't have the sheen or lustre of the J. Crew version but the pattern is so similar. Seriously go check out these Gap pants! I am in love with the green version!

I love, love, love J. Crew shorts. I have quite a few pairs and am usually drawn to them for their vibrant colors that you can't really find anywhere else. But this year Old Navy has a lot of the same colors and patterns for a fraction of the price. Shop at J. Crew for the ones you can't find elsewhere, but when you can find a cheaper version go for them!

What are you loving or lusting after here?

lust vs. love

I know these jackets are not exactly the same. They are totally different patterns and materials but the cut is very, very similar. I absolutely love the lust version, however the price tag is a bit much. The love version is actually on my wish list. It's super versatile and while it's still relatively expensive I like to spend a little more on my blazers and jackets. I could see me getting a lot of wear out of this striped beauty.

This one I am super excited about. I love all of J. Crew's Liberty shirts but they are just crazy expensive for a button-up. This match could not be more spot on. I would love to take the Old Navy version and style it up exactly like J. Crew does. Only I would be saving myself $125 in the process, which I could definitely put to good use!

I am loving J. Crew's jewelry lately. I mean seriously crushing on it. While the love version isn't spot on, it is very similar and I really like that it's more versatile.

So what do you think? Are you crushing on the lusts or loves this week?

lust vs. love!

{Lust | Love}

I was so in love with this Madewell sweater from the first moment I saw it. But I really couldn't justify spending $88 on it. This Old Navy version is perfect and for a fraction of the cost. I so, so want it!

{Lust | Love}

Okay let's be honest, I love both of these options. But $25!!! You can't beat that for a vest. You could get all three colors for less than the J. Crew vest! See how I styled the green one here.

{Lust | Love}

I love cashmere as much as the next girl, but what I really love about the J. Crew sweater is those perfect polka dots. I know that Old Navy had a polka dot top earlier this year (which I have) but I kind of prefer this one because it's a little bit more substantial as far as sweaters go. And I am so in love with every single color. I just can't pick a favorite!

{Lust | Love}

I do adore the lust shoe but $125 for flats is a bit too much for me. The Old Navy ones are not quite as sleek but still super cute. And I love all the color options. I'll take the black, coral and grey please!

What do you think? Are you into the lust or loves here?

lust vs. love!

                      {Lust | Love}

It's time for a new series! Lust vs. love. It's all about items that I lust after but then I fall in love with a cheaper version. I am really digging the cheaper loafers. They have been in my online cart for weeks. I love the the pop of color on the sole. I actually think they are better than the more expensive version!

UPDATE: The lust shoes are now on sale for $44.99, so they are both pretty good deals. You still save $20 with the Target pair though!
                       {Lust | Love}

Okay this is an instance where I actually like the lust blazer better. Those gold buttons are such a great detail. But let's be honest I'm not going to spend over $100 for a colorful blazer that I can only wear every now and then. These Old Navy options are a really great way to add a pop of color to your wardrobe without killing your pocketbook.

                      {Lust | Love}

I would really like to get a winter coat in a stand out color but it just doesn't make sense when I have to have a neutral color on hand too. I'm all for spending money on a good winter coat but does it really make sense to spend a ton on one that isn't very versatile? I actually love both of these options equally and let's face it, the color is spot on. So why not save $265 and get the cheaper version?
