you are more beautiful than you think.

I don't usually post videos or reblog content. But this Dove campaign is just too poignant, thoughtful and inspiring. I really, truly hope you will take a moment out of your day to watch it if you haven't already.

As a style blogger, it's easy to critique yourself day in and day out. I mean we take photos of ourselves and we have to pick the best of the litter, so that means critically thinking about each image. We may not say anything out loud but there are flickers of thoughts (and even doubts) like: "I look big. My hair looks awful. I don't look so great from that angle." We might not give these thoughts a second moment, but they are there.

I know that I am feeling especially self-conscious because I'm pregnant and I feel like I'm not necessarily putting "my best face forward." Sometimes I think it's really hard to put yourself out there and be vulnerable especially during those times when we aren't feeling our best. But this video shows that the way we perceive ourselves is not the way the world sees us. We are beautiful in our own way and if perfect strangers can realize that, why can't we?

So today let's let the insecurities fade, the flaws melt away and enjoy our beauty because we are all more beautiful than we think.

  4. Kudos to Dove for promoting this beauty campaign. I agree, as a style blogger it is so easy to get caught up in critiques which is why it's so important to take a step back and really try to frame our thoughts with positivity and acceptance. Thanks for posting such an inspiring video Lindsay!
