hello neon!

{Top: Similar | Purse: J. Crew | Skirt: Gap | Shoes: Similar}

Happy Monday! I have realized that my love for neon knows no bounds. I walk into a store and immediately pick up everything neon and then I buy pretty much all of it. I go to the nail salon and inevitably choose a highlighter-esque color. I just can't help myself. Be it yellow, orange, green or pink I just have to have it.

This skirt is kind of my new love (again another great non-maternity, maternity piece!). I want to wear it everyday and the color just makes me smile. You might think a large, pregnant lady wearing neon is a bad idea. I say your wrong. I may need to invest in the pink and peach versions too! Here's to neon!

weekend wear: pop of neon!

All I want this weekend is a fun, easy, breezy look. This one is exactly that. I love that adorable striped dress with just a few pops of neon. And I am dying over those sandals. They are just too cute! This look would be perfect for an al fresco lunch with friends, a trip to the farmer's market or a fun bbq!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend full of sunshine and summer festivities! See you back here on Monday!

summer whites.

So this outfit didn't translate as well as I would have liked it too. I was going for a pretty neutral outfit with a big pop of neon only the the neon didn't photograph very well. And let me tell you these shoes are in-your-face-neon. In fact, someone commented on how they needed to put sunglasses on because my shoes were so bright. I know so original, huh?

I usually wouldn't share this look with you guys but I am so burnt out and exhausted and we still have to pick a rocker for the nursery and fold clothes before I can just chill. I hope you will accept my excuses just this once (okay it may happen more than once).

color shock.

{Shirt: Similar | Scarf: Similar | Bag: Target | Shorts: Ann Taylor Loft | Sandals: Ann Taylor Loft}

Hello friends! I am back from vacation and it was absolutely wonderful. Exactly what I needed. And I'm happy to be back in Chicago, where the weather has taken a definite turn for the better!

I think while I was away I definitely "popped" so to speak. My belly is big at this point. And without actually looking at the days and weeks, I know I am now in the third trimester. It's like one day, you wake up and bam, your body is big, unwieldy (I often mow my son over because I can't see him) and everything hurts. I suppose cleaning all day and scrubbing our floors on my knees doesn't really help those aches and pains. But I guess I am a glutton for punishment. And let's be honest, how can you get away with not scrubbing the floors when your toddler decides that he wants to paint the room with his oatmeal> Ah welcome back to real life Lindsay. Welcome back.

bright white.

{Jacket: Similar | Sweater: Gap | Shirt: Similar | Jeans: Gap | Flats: Similar}

This is the cardigan that I wasn't too sure about, but now I've decided I love it. I love the bright pop of neon against white pants. But white pants are dangerous...dangerous around these parts.

Not only do I spill food on myself on a regular basis (the good news is that my belly is so large at this point that it usually catches most of the runaway food), but I also have a two-year-old.

We went to Starbucks for breakfast one morning and I was wearing these adorable new white pants when my son decided it would be fun to put his shoes on them. Now there are faint pint-sized dust marks on them. Of course, once I said no, it was the most fun game ever invented. So it just looks like a toddler ran all over the lower portion of my body. Fun. Very fun.

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you had a wonderful, restful break. We were busy, busy, We celebrated my son's 2nd birthday (more on that later). It was very fun but I'm exhausted!

On to today's post. I am super excited because I am collaborating with DC in Style. We both styled a maternity outfit around neon. I love that our outfits show both pregnant and non-pregnant readers how to style neon in the winter/early spring. Being pregnant doesn't mean we have to stop being trendy. It's still really easy to incorporate the season's trends into your wardrobe.

Here's a peek at Elena's fun neon look!

socks and booties.

{Hat: Similar | Sunglasses: Fossil | Sweater: Gap | Jeans: Amazon | Boots: Similar}

This is one of those outfits where I don't feel like a pregnant mother. I feel chic and cool and put together. These days are becoming increasingly rare. And really there's nothing like a great outfit to boost your mood. So consider my mood boosted! Now if I could only copy this outfit five other ways and still call this a style blog...

And can we talk about socks and booties? Maybe my new favorite trend ever. My feet stay warm and there's an extra little peek of stripes. It's a win-win in my book. Now the only problem is that I have three pairs of socks to do this with. I might need to invest in cuter socks, people.

What do you think of socks and booties? Have you tried it?

Please do my friends. I think you will be pleasantly surprised. You can thank me later.

weekend wear: neon!

I am ready for this week to be over. How bout you? After a month or so of lying on the couch and doing nothing due to morning sickness, my home slowly disintegrated. I've spent every single day this week trying to put it back together and let me tell you...it's still not there.

After all the cleaning and not super cute clothes this week, I am ready for a stylish weekend. I've been seeing a lot of really cute neon tops on bloggers and it makes me want one! I think neon is a lot more versatile than we might think. So here's a look using a top that's not as in your face as some of the others.

And can we talk about those shoes? I saw them on Good Life For Less and they have risen to the tippy top of my wish list. These Gap beauties are too cute and will hopefully be coming home with me soon!

What do you think are you a neon girl?

I hope all of you lovelies have a wonderful weekend and I will see you back here on Monday!

just another outfit.

{Sunglasses: Similar | Sweater: Similar | Tee: Hanes | Scarf: Similar | Pants: Gap | Shoes: Sperry}

You guys I am so stinking beat. I would much rather curl up in bed than do anything else. I took the easy way out today. I have no inspiration. Zero. Zippo. None. So instead of putting together a well-thought out post that might actually interest you guys, I decided to just post another outfit.

If I had a fall uniform, this would be it. Oversized sweater, check; fun scarf, check; stretchy pants, check; and comfy shoes, check. Basically the equivalent of pajamas minus the scarf. And I call myself a style blogger. Go figure.

Oh and just for the record folks, today I found out that my son might possibly grow up to be 6'8". What the what. Not cool little dude, Not cool. Maybe you could just take a growing break? Maybe just maybe?

I promise I will be more inspirational tomorrow.,,maybe.

so not me.

{Sweater: A-Thread | Cords: Old Navy | Shoes: Piperlime}

Have you ever worn an outfit that just isn't you...at all? This is it for me. I mean neon, colored pants and sparkles for daywear? That's a bit much even for me. But if I'm honest with myself, I actually love this look from top to bottom. It's not my usual and a departure from the norm is sometimes good especially when it comes to style.

I'm thinking now that maybe I should just be a style blogger in the spring, summer and fall months. Is that possible?? Because I might be in for a rude awakening when the weather turns. Getting photos in cold, blustery weather and getting them before dark will not be easy. We are already having trouble adjusting our schedule (if you can't tell from the photos above!). Any advice on how to cope with this challenge would be greatly appreciated! How do you ladies do it???

here to brighten your day.

{Shirt: Gap | Shorts: J. Crew | Bag: Olivia Harris}

Get your sunglasses out folks because it's bright here today.  I took some inspiration from my post on brights last Thursday.  There's nothing like a splash of color to wake me (and you) up!

One guy at Starbucks even commented on this color combo.  Not sure if he was complimenting me or not...but we'll say he appreciated my efforts to make everyone's day a little sunnier.  I mean how can you frown at someone dressed like this...you just can't my friends.  Don't even try.

I'm linking up with The Pleated Poppy today.

And if you haven't already be sure to check out my very first giveaway!

Trend of the Month: Colorful Blazers!

{Lipstick: Revlon Are You Red-dy | Blazer: Zara | Necklace: Target | Top: J. Crew | Shorts: Gap | Shoes: Target}

I'm joining Marionberry Style for the trend of the month...colorful blazers!  This one was a no-brainer.  I got this red blazer at Zara recently and hadn't worn it...so this was the perfect opportunity.
I went out for drinks with a friend and this was the ideal cocktail outfit.  Heels and shorts...yes please!  About those cocktails though...I don't know what I was thinking!  I had so much fun I got carried away.  Maybe I thought I was back in college or that I didn't have a child or that I wasn't a stay at-home-mom...but I had one too many...and this was on a THURSDAY.  We literally shut down the bar.  Who does that?!?  Apparently I do! A word to the wise, dealing with an almost toddler when you go to bed at 3 a.m. is not fun.  Most people probably know that, but I had to test it out.
