a hairy situation.

{Shirt: Similar | Jeans: Gap | Shoes: Lands End Canvas | Bag: Matt & Nat}

Am I the only one in the world who takes forever to get my hair cut?  Well, I finally got it cut and colored.  Aren't you happy that you don't have to look at my straggly, split-endy, too long, tinny hair anymore?  I am!  I finally realized why it takes me forever to schedule an appointment...because it takes three freaking hours to cut and highlight my hair (maybe this is normal...I don't know).  But by the time we were done I was sick of my hairstylist, sick of my hair and sick of looking at myself in a mirror.  Three hours is a long, long time.

I may hate getting my hair done, but once it's done, I love it.  I feel like a movie star.  My husband took like a million close-up photos of my hair, but I'm only sharing one so you don't think I'm narcissistic about it.  Trust me, it only looks like this three times year (when someone else does it).

So what's the verdict?  Am I the only one who waits way too long to take care of my hair or is this a universal problem?

I hope I'm not the only one...

  1. You're definitely not the only one. My hair stylist is one of my BFFs, and I still only go about twice a year. Now that I have bangs, I have to have her trim those every so often when I see her, but otherwise, two or three times a year it is.

    Your hair does look really pretty!

    1. Good to know! Sometimes it's just so hard to find the time. I wish my BFF was my hair stylist...it would make the visit so much more fun!

  2. I used to be bad about that, but then I started scheduling my next appointments while I'm there. But I have short hair, so it definitely doesn't take as long! I do love the feeling you get when someone else does your hair though.

  3. Your hair looks wonderful! I have long blond hair too, and it takes me 3 hours to get it done every time as well. Luckily my hairdresser is also a friend, so we can have a good long gossip every four to six weeks when I get it done!

  4. Universal problem -- I waited 4 months to get my hair trimmed this last time! :) One of the reasons I started growing out my hair is so that skipping trims wouldn't show up as badly. You have lovely long hair, like a blonde version of Kate Middleton's! I have dreams of Kate Middleton hair.... ;)

    1. That's one of the benefits of long hair for sure. And wow my hair has never been compared to Kate Middleton but I'll take it!

  9. Well.... I don't really ever get my hair done, so you are doing better than I do! I probably get a trim once a year.

  10. I think it is a universal mom problem. We wait too long because everyone else needs something and getting it done is such a large chunk of time we don't have...at least that is my excuse for split ends and two tone hair! You hair looks fabulous!!

  11. Your hair looks great! I wait months and months to get my haircut, because I'm cheap and it always looks the same anyways. Plus usually I always hate my hair for the first 2 weeks after a cut.

  13. It takes almost 3 hours for my cut and color and I have a fourth of the hair! As you know I've resorted to taking a 1/2 day of vacation to find the time!

  16. Oh goodness, I'm the worst at getting my hair cut. I just got mine cut last week and it had been 6 months since my last trim! Unacceptable but I kinda hate it too. I don't color it so I don't ever really 'have' to go but kinda did this time b/c my ends were trifling! I feel ya girl! You hair looks gorg in these pics :)
