nursery tour.

{transformed Ikea bookshelf}

{the little man himself}

For some reason, I just can't capture the charm of this room with the camera. It's light and bright and airy (contrary to the photos) and even though it's the size of a shoe box, it's become one of my favorite places in our home.

I am by no means an interior designer but I do love decorating. And this project was so much fun. I wish I had taken before pictures because the room had a major transformation. It was a small, useless space before. Now it has so much character and I love spending time in it.

We painted the room this perfect mint color, which gave it a major facelift. And then we tried to re-use as much as we could. We repainted our black Ikea bookshelf and made it a dresser. And we re-used our crib and some of T's artwork. We bought the rug from Overstock to cover up the (nasty) carpet. And we purchased a small rocker that fits the space quite nicely.

I am so very lucky that my mom is generous and such a talented seamstress! She made most of the crib sheets and the curtains. I really, really just love this space! What do you think?

  1. It looks so pretty! You did a fantastic job!!

  2. It's beautiful! It looks so peaceful yet cheery. Love!

  3. WOW Lindsey! This nursery is absolutely amazing. You have a gift for creating a special atmosphere. Would you mind sharing the name of that perfect mint paint?
    Oh yeah, and your new little son is absolutely adorable :) :)

    1. Jen, thank you for your kind words! The paint is Benjamin Moore Parkside Dunes. I think I got it a little lighter and if you were interested in the color specs I could totally send them your way

    2. Woah! Sorry I misspelled your name earlier!

  4. I adore it! Such fabulous colors, and I love how you've organized everything. Also, that little chambray outfit! The little guy couldn't be cuter.

  5. Perfect way to make what you already have, work in new and beautiful ways!

Thank you so much for commenting! It really makes my day!
